Dresdner SC's volleyball players did their duty and won 3:0 (25:10, 25:11, 25:7) against Bundesliga bottom club VC Neuwied. With their twelfth win, the six-time German champions consolidated third place in the table on Wednesday evening.
Although the hosts were still without their two regulars Sarah Straube and Grace Frohling (both torn ligaments) and coach Alexander Waibl once again gave other players from the second row a chance to play, the DSC women dictated the game right from the start. They caused considerable problems for the visitors, who were playing their penultimate game after the main round due to insolvency proceedings. Dresden were also clearly superior in all other respects. The most successful scorer was Lara Berger with 18 points.
