The school management of Geschwister-Scholl-Grundschule in Leipzig is proud to have made it to the final round of the German School Award 2024.

The school management of Geschwister-Scholl-Grundschule in Leipzig has reacted with great pride to reaching the final round of the competition for the German School Award 2024. "Apparently we convinced the jury of experts who recently visited us of our concept. This is a great joint success," said Headmistress Kathrin Riedel on Friday. On Thursday, the Saxon Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs announced on Facebook that the school had made it to the final round.

The Geschwister-Scholl-Schule is one of the 15 schools nominated to take part in the final in Berlin. The elementary school in Leipzig's Gohlis district is home to 360 children from all social backgrounds. According to the school management, lessons are constantly adapted to the needs of the children through ongoing diagnostics. In addition, the pupils work with individual weekly plans and learning diaries - success rather than failure is documented.

The award ceremony with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is to take place on October 2. The focus will be on the quality of teaching and the question of how schools organize teaching and learning for their pupils.

The German School Award is the most highly endowed award for schools in Germany. The main prize is endowed with 100,000 euros, five further school prizes with 30,000 euros each. The Robert Bosch Stiftung has been awarding the German School Award together with the Heidehof Foundation since 2006.
