With the onset of spring, anyone interested in learning more about the biodiversity of one of Germany's largest alluvial forests is cordially invited to attend the announcement of the Leipzig Alluvial Forest Species 2025 on Wednesday, April 16. The announcement and presentation of the Leipzig riparian forest species and its habitat will begin at 4 pm at the School Biology Center.
Immediately afterwards, at around 5.30 pm, there will be a family-friendly excursion to the adjacent Elster-Pleiße riparian forest. Expert speakers will present the habitat of Leipzig's 32nd riparian forest species, providing deep insights into the world of a very special ecosystem that is heavily dependent on and shaped by water.
The event is free of charge. Further information, including the history of the Leipzig Alluvial Forest Day, is available on 0341 123-6711, on the website www.leipzig.de/uiz and in person at the UiZ (Technisches Rathaus, Prager Straße 118-136, Haus A.II).
