Thick clouds, squalls and showers dominate the weather situation in Saxony. There may be isolated thunderstorms, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) on Friday. Snow is also expected, with 1 to 5 centimetres of fresh snow falling above 600 meters by the evening, according to the forecast. There will be gale-force winds during showers and in exposed areas, with some heavy squalls on the peaks of the Ore Mountains. Maximum temperatures will be between 4 and 6 degrees, in the mountains between 0 and 4 degrees.
In the night to Saturday, it will remain very cloudy. According to the meteorologists, sleet or snow showers will occur in some areas, and snow will fall continuously in the mountains during the night, with a further 5 centimetres of fresh snow in some areas and up to 10 centimetres in the Ore Mountains. Initially, heavy squalls are expected on the peaks of the Ore Mountains, but the wind will ease as the night progresses. Temperatures will drop to between minus 2 and 1 degree, in the mountains to minus 5 degrees.
