From April 11 to 13, CAGGTUS Leipzig will transform the trade fair into a gaming paradise. With indie highlights, a spectacular Fortnite tournament and the biggest LAN party in German-speaking countries, the festival attracts gamers from all over Germany.
Gaming highlights and tournaments: CAGGTUS Leipzig inspires the community
CAGGTUS Leipzig opens its doors from April 11 to 13 and offers a unique gaming experience at Messe Leipzig. A special highlight is the big Fortnite tournament, which will take place on the ASUS ROG stage on Saturday. The well-known streamer Amar brings his community to Leipzig and invites you to his ROG Geforce Edition Fortnite tournament. The best players will compete for prize money of 10,000 euros. Participants were able to secure one of the 40 places in several qualifying rounds in advance.
The ASUS ROG stage will also be hot on Friday and Sunday: Rocketbeans TV will challenge the community with the "RBTV vs CAGGTUS" format. Visitors have the chance to win valuable prizes from Republic of Gamers.
Indie Ground: Creative games from Saxony and Berlin
The Indie Ground is an integral part of CAGGTUS and showcases more than 20 selected indie titles, some of which have just been programmed. The development teams will be live on site and are looking forward to testing their games directly with the community. The participating studios include teams from Saxony such as FusionPlay, Wanderweg Games and Bippinbits. The Indie Ground is being organized together with Games Ground Berlin.
"It's great that we are once again able to organize the Indie Ground. The response and interest in the exhibited projects was already huge in 2024. That's why we're now looking forward to giving more indie studios, universities and projects the opportunity to present themselves," says Gianni Sommer, co-founder of Games Ground Berlin.
Freeplay, retro games and cozy lounge: something for every taste
In the heart of the Entertainment Area, the Freeplay Area shines in new splendor. Without a separate over-16s area, the space looks even more inviting. It is supported by the Leipzig-based company Area Carry XMG, which provides around 40 gaming stations.
But there is also plenty to discover away from the Freeplay Area: The Retro Area invites visitors with classics from over 40 years of video game history, while the FPV Area offers miniracer experiences thanks to VR technology. The new Cozy Games Lounge in the Cosplay Area focuses on cozy single-player games, and the Dance Area searches daily for the Just Dance Champion.
LAN party and tickets: The countdown is on
The CAGGTUS not only offers gaming fun for all ages, but also hosts the largest LAN party in the German-speaking world with almost 2,100 participants. The LAN area starts on April 10 and is open to people aged 18 and over. As only a few places are still available, it is worth registering quickly in the online ticket store.
The Entertainment Area will be open from April 11 to 13 for gaming enthusiasts aged 12 and over. Day tickets can be purchased online around the clock - cheaper in advance than at the box office.
Conclusion: Gaming diversity at CAGGTUS Leipzig
With its varied program, many gaming stations and exciting tournaments, CAGGTUS Leipzig attracts both hardcore gamers and families. Whether indie fans, retro lovers or Fortnite champions - everyone gets their money's worth here.
