Disruptions also possible on the East German railroad

The private railroad company Odeg is also expecting disruptions and cancellations on its lines due to the warning strike by the train drivers' union GDL. As Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn uses the infrastructure of Deutsche Bahn, restrictions are possible, Odeg announced in Berlin on Wednesday. However, Odeg employees will not be involved in the wage dispute. According to the statement, cancellations are possible on 15 lines operated by the private provider. Increased capacity utilization is also expected.

Regional trains on routes between Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt are affected: RE1 (Magdeburg - Cottbus), RE8 North (Wismar - BER Airport), RE8 South (Berlin - Baruth (Mark)/Elsterwerda/Finsterwalde (Niederlausitz), RE9 (Rostock - Binz/Sassnitz), RE10 (Rostock - Züssow), RB13 (Rehna - Parchim), RB14 (Hagenow Stadt - Parchim), RB15 (Plau am See - Waren (Müritz)), RB33 (Potsdam - Jüterborg), RB37 (Berlin-Wannsee - Beelitz Stadt), RB46 (Cottbus - Forst (Lausitz)), RB51 (Brandenburg - Rathenow), RB64 (Hoyerswerda - Görlitz) and RB65 (Cottbus - Zittau).

All lines will be operated, but passengers should inform themselves about disruptions in good time, it said. The GDL has called on its members to strike from Wednesday, 10 p.m. until Thursday, 6 p.m. Deutsche Bahn expects cancellations on regional and long-distance services throughout Germany.
