Just over a year after construction began, the tallest wind turbine in Central Saxony went into operation on Tuesday. Including the rotor blades, the wind turbine has a height of 246.6 meters, as announced by Leipziger Stadtwerke. The renewable energy is supplied to the Mittweida substation via a 13-kilometer-long line. With an output of 5560 kilowatts, this plant can supply more than 4600 households with electricity every year. By the end of the year, a second wind turbine with the same height and output is to be built in the immediate vicinity.
