After a three-day forced break due to further tension wire breaks, ships can pass Dresden's Carola Bridge again. "The passage is free by appointment from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 11 am," said a spokesperson for the Waterways and Shipping Authority (WSA) on Monday on request. Only the crew required for the respective transport may be on board the ships. The first passage is expected this Friday.
The Elbe federal waterway in Dresden was closed again last Friday after further tension wire breaks in the construction of the Carola Bridge. The measuring system attached to the river crossing, which is used to permanently monitor the condition of the partially collapsed structure, did not respond for 72 hours, allowing the passage to be reopened. "There are several applications for March," said the WSA spokesperson.
