Saxony's Transport Minister Martin Dulig has appealed to the CDU not to jeopardize the future of the Deutschlandticket. "The Deutschlandticket must not become a pawn. This is a project that must not be allowed to die," said the SPD politician. He called on the CDU to approve the planned amendment to the law in the Bundestag. If the law does not pass through the Bundestag, funding will not be guaranteed from next year onwards.
The ticket can be used on public transport throughout Germany - regardless of federal state, transport association or fare zone. The ticket is valid for buses and trains. Only long-distance trains such as ICE and IC are excluded. The Conference of Transport Ministers decided in September that the Germany Ticket, which currently costs 49 euros, should cost 58 euros per month from 2025.
