Volkswagen has been back to normal production in Zwickau and Dresden since Monday, after production was curtailed due to weak demand. The company agreement on three-shift operation in Zwickau was terminated and expires at the end of the year.

Volkswagen has been producing normally again in Zwickau and Dresden since Monday. Due to weakening demand, production had been curtailed since the beginning of October. For this purpose, the assembly line in Dresden was at a standstill for two weeks. In Zwickau, one of the two production lines was affected. A company spokesman said that on Monday, this line had been restarted in three-shift operation, and production in Dresden would continue in one-shift operation as before. However, negotiations with the works council would continue on the future operation.

The management had terminated the company agreement on three-shift operation in Zwickau. It thus expires at the end of the year.
