The demonstrations against right-wing extremism and for democracy with more than 100,000 people were largely peaceful in Saxony on Sunday. In Dresden, no criminal offenses were recorded and there were no incidents, a police spokesperson said on Monday. According to the police, everything also remained peaceful in Chemnitz.
In Leipzig, where around 60,000 people protested, an investigation was opened into the burning of pyrotechnics and a violation of the law on public assembly. In Görlitz, demonstrators were threatened by counter-protesters. No one was injured and the police filed charges.
