Every vote counts. That is why some parties also rely on advertising and information during elections, and not just in German.

Several parties in Saxony are focusing on linguistic diversity in the current election campaign for the Bundestag elections. The Left Party and the FDP have also published the short form of their election program in Sorbian. The Greens and CDU are at least advertising with posters in Sorbian in the settlement area of the Sorbs in eastern Saxony.

"The Sorbs are an indispensable part of Saxony's identity. By translating our election manifesto into Upper Sorbian, we are not only showing respect for their language and culture, but also that we take their concerns seriously," explained Matthias Schniebel, deputy state chairman of the FDP and Bundestag candidate in the Bautzen constituency.

In addition to German and versions in simple and easy language, the Left Party also offers the short form of the manifesto in 16 other languages, including Farsi, Arabic, Danish, Hebrew and Vietnamese. In addition to the German version, the SPD also offers its election program in plain language, for listening and in short versions in English, Polish, Turkish and Arabic.
