In the view of Deputy Prime Minister Wolfram Günther (Greens), the Saxon state government is no longer working efficiently. He told the Leipziger Volkszeitung newspaper (Thursday) that the effort required for cooperation between the CDU, Greens and SPD had reached enormous proportions. "We are constantly twisting loops. It's no longer efficient."
Günther blamed the CDU for this. They are finding it difficult to tackle change. Large sections of the CDU found it difficult to accept that the CDU/CSU was in opposition in the federal government and in a three-party coalition in Saxony. "Parts of the CDU are denying that the Greens are capable of governing. That is no longer constructive behavior. The CDU is talking the state down," he said.
Many things currently have to be "clarified again and again in endless talks. Millimeter by millimeter". So far, the coalition agreement has held. "But we are wasting precious time in internal coalition and government battles." For the Greens, the red line is reached when there is a standstill. However, he could not see that Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) or the SPD had any interest in this.
