Saxony's Commissioner for Foreigners: Work and language are crucial for integration

For Saxony's Commissioner for Foreigners Geert Mackenroth (CDU), work and language are the decisive factors for integration. He welcomes the employment agency's approach of enabling these two factors in parallel and no longer one after the other, the CDU politician announced in his 2023 annual report on Monday.

Mackenroth also supports the Saxon Integration and Participation Act introduced by the state government. "We need a strong signal for planned immigration to the people who are to come to us as workers and skilled workers and to our host society. Without immigration, our standard of living cannot be maintained."

The immigration authorities must see themselves as "enabling authorities" and have the courage to find pragmatic solutions within the framework of current law, demanded Mackenroth.
