Saxony's Interior Minister Armin Schuster has expressed his horror at the meeting between representatives of an extreme right-wing alliance and AfD members in Potsdam. The meeting reminded him of the darkest part of German history, said the CDU politician in an interview with "MDR Aktuell" on Thursday. Basically, it was about "deportations to Africa". Even if only four or five AfD members had been involved in the meeting, this was extremely significant and allowed conclusions to be drawn about the party.

Schuster did not want to comment on a ban on the AfD. According to a report by the media outlet Correctiv, AfD politicians took part in a meeting in Potsdam in November at which the leader of the far-right Identitarian movement, Martin Sellner, presented his ideas. Sellner confirmed that he had spoken at the meeting about "remigration" - a right-wing concept for the repatriation of immigrants. Politicians from several parties expressed concern about the meeting. The Identitarian Movement is classified as right-wing extremist by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
