Following the departure of Miroslav Jagitic, sports director David Bergner was interim coach. As of April 1, the Chemiker have a new head coach.

Regional league soccer club Chemie Leipzig will have a new head coach from April 1. Adrian Alipour will then take charge of the traditional Leutzsch club. The 46-year-old has signed a contract until summer 2027.

Alipour was coach at northern regional league club SV Meppen until last fall. His contract with the Emsland club will be terminated on March 30. He previously coached TSV Steinbach Haiger in the Regionalliga Südwest, Wuppertaler SV and Rot-Weiß Koblenz, among others.

Until Alipour takes up his post, sporting director David Bergner is still in charge of the team on an interim basis. He took over the role after Miroslav Jagitic left the club at the start of the year. Jagitic had managed Chemie for six years. "We are hoping for a turnaround in the way we want to play soccer. He allows us to play active soccer. Adrian is the absolute ideal solution, he has developed many young players," said Bergner.
