After beating a B team from SC Potsdam, the Dresden volleyball players also beat the Brandenburg team with their best line-up for the second match in a row.

The Dresden SC volleyball players have started the third Bundesliga preliminary round with a win. Alexander Waibl's team beat SC Potsdam 3:1 (23:25, 25:22, 25:16, 25:16) in a thrilling and hard-fought match. The six-time German champions also caught up with the two leading teams from Stuttgart and Schwerin with their second win against the Brandenburgers in ten days.

In front of 2,945 spectators, the two teams fought a close battle with many long rallies right from the start. In the first set, Dresden missed a few chances in attack. Alexander Waibl's charges stepped up their game in the second set, gaining a clear lead with a powerful service game and solid blocking and court defense. However, Potsdam came close again, but the DSC showed strong nerves and did not allow the set to be equalized in the final phase.

The spectators also witnessed a tough battle in sets three and four until the middle of the set. However, the hosts improved their blocking and court defense as the set wore on, frustrating their opponents' attackers. After 95 minutes, Julie Lengweiler, who had come on as a substitute in the first set and was subsequently named most valuable player, converted the second match point.
