One day before the top match against SSC Palmberg Schwerin, volleyball Bundesliga club Dresdner SC has announced the termination of its contract with Slovenian international Eva Zatkovic.
According to the press release, the two sides have "mutually agreed to terminate the contract early". The 23-year-old had only moved to the Elbe in the summer from Italian second division club Tecnoteam Albese Volley and had signed a contract for one season.
The diagonal attacker has now asked for her contract to be terminated early for personal sporting reasons. In the season to date, the diagonal attacker has mostly only made brief appearances, as Latvian international Marta Levinska has emerged as the number one in her position and has become the top scorer in the Bundesliga.
"It wasn't an easy decision to let Eva go. She helped us a lot, especially in the double switch, and was an important player in the training process. However, I believe that unhappy players are detrimental to the team atmosphere in the long term, which is why we decided to terminate her contract," said head coach Alexander Waibl.
