Dynamo Dresden missed out on a move to the top of the 3rd division table. After the bitter DFB Cup exit against Darmstadt, the Elbe city team were held to a 1:1 (0:1) draw at FC Ingolstadt. Max Besuschkow (43') put the Schanzers ahead in front of 8,712 spectators at Audi Sportpark before Dresden's Jonas Oehmichen (58') scored a deserved equalizer.
Dresden coach Thomas Stamm was forced to rotate in the second English week in a row. Captain Stefan Kutschke (suspended for red) and Niklas Hauptmann (suspended for yellow) were two leading players missing. Tony Menzel was given a breather and was also not in the squad. The trio was replaced by Oliver Batista Meier, Jakob Lemmer and the later goalscorer Oehmichen. The change in personnel was hardly noticeable. Dresden played with commitment and largely kept the league's second-best offense in check in the first period. It was only Besuschkow's direct free-kick shortly before half-time that put the hosts in front.
Dynamo upped the tempo after the break. Oehmichen's headed goal was the deserved reward. Stamm made full use of his substitution quota to counteract the visible loss of strength. But it was not enough for more than a point.
