The Niners Chemnitz basketball team are on the brink of the greatest success in their club's history. Despite an eleven-goal cushion, the Saxons want to start from scratch again in the second leg in Istanbul.

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team firmly believe in the Fiba Europe Cup title after winning the first leg. "We want to finish this thing and bring it home and make German basketball proud. And make history for the Niners," said Kevin Yebo after the 85:74 (50:36) victory over Bahcesehir Istanbul on Wednesday evening. However, he and his team do not want to rest on their eleven-goal cushion in the second leg. "We want to forget the game here and go there with such a nil-nil mentality. It's nil-nil and we want to win the game. That's our mentality, that's what we want to push and radiate," he told MDR.

Niners captain Jonas Richter, who scored twelve points like Yebo, also believes the momentum is on the Saxons' side. "I think we'll do the same as today, we'll take it like any other game, with full energy and full focus, hopefully we'll get the second win there too," said Richter. The second leg for coach Rodrigo Pastore's side kicks off next Wednesday at 18:00 in Istanbul's Ülker Sports and Event Hall.
