- RB Leipzig are unbeaten in 14 Bundesliga games this season. If they also avoid defeat at St. Pauli, the Saxons would equal their club record from 2019.
- The last time they met for points was in 2016, when they were still in League Two. Peter Gulacsi, Lukas Klostermann, Willi Orban and Yussuf Poulsen were already on the pitch for RB at the time. In total, there have only been four Bundesliga 2 matches between the teams, three of which Hamburg won 1-0.
- Curious fact: St. Pauli and RB have each played 275 Bundesliga matches to date. While Leipzig have won 149 of them, Hamburg have won just 58.
- FC St. Pauli have started the season with three defeats. Hamburg have never lost four games to start a season, even in the Bundesliga 2.
- RB love playing against Bundesliga newcomers. Since joining the top flight in 2016, the Saxons have played 32 games against promoted teams and have never lost. RB have won 29 times and drawn three times.
