RB Leipzig starts USA trip with 17 professionals and nine young players

RB Leipzig has started its first overseas trip. Coach Marco Rosse will be working with 17 professionals and nine youth players in the USA until August 4, also promoting the Bundesliga.

Not on the tour, which initially led via Keflavik in Iceland to New York, are the two German European Championship participants David Raum and Benjamin Henrichs, the Spanish European champion Dani Olmo and the loan player Xavi Simons, who has returned to Paris Saint-Germain for the time being. They are still on vacation. Castello Lukeba (France) and Ilaix Moriba (Guinea), who played for their respective teams at the Olympics, will also be missing. Christoph Baumgartner had to miss out at short notice. The Austrian underwent knee surgery due to persistent complaints, but according to the information available, he will only be out for a short time.

The Leipzig team will be staying in Hoboken in the immediate vicinity of New York until Thursday. There will be two training sessions on Monday and Tuesday before the first of two test matches against Aston Villa on Wednesday (local time).

After that, RB will travel on to Miami, where another training session is scheduled for Friday. On Saturday (local time), Leipzig will play against Wolverhampton Wanderers, after which the team will travel back to Leipzig.
