The anticipation for Jürgen Klopp's first visit to Bundesliga club RB Leipzig is huge. Although the date of the Red Bull Head of Global Soccer's visit to the showpiece team has not yet been set, Marco Rose can hardly wait. "Yes, I've left Kloppo alone, now the vacation is over. Now it's time to get going. January 1st is a sharp start, even for him, so we're all looking forward to it. We are looking forward to his network, to his experience, to him as a guy," said RB head coach Rose after the public training kick-off in Leipzig.
Although Rose and his buddy Klopp know each other well from their time together in Mainz and have never lost touch, the RB coach is also hoping for a learning effect. "You can talk about systems, about philosophy, about so many things, dealing with squads, squad sizes, everything that goes with it. It's always nice not to be swimming in your own soup, but to get input and learn something new. Also to develop further at the age of 48 and already as an experienced coach," said Rose.
Contact with Mintzlaff beforehand
The 57-year-old Klopp had already been in contact with the RB cosmos during his vacation. "Of course, we also talked about the sporting situation, and Jürgen gave us his absolute support when it came to Marco Rose," said Red Bull's managing director Oliver Mintzlaff recently.
Klopp will now virtually go on a world tour. He will get to know the global network of clubs in Brazil, New York, Japan and Salzburg. He will also later work as an advisor for the clubs Leeds United and Paris FC, where the drinks group has minority stakes.
