This year, 402 young people in Saxony passed their Abitur or Fachhochschulreife with a dream grade of 1.0. Minister Piwarz and Minister President Kretschmer congratulated them.

In Saxony, 402 young people have completed their Abitur or Fachhochschulreife with a dream grade of 1.0 this year. Minister of Education Christian Piwarz (CDU) congratulated them on Wednesday on their "outstanding graduation". "They can be proud of their achievement; it is the result of hard work," he said. "Nobody gets a 1.0 Abitur or a 1.0 Fachhochschulreife as a gift." Minister-President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) also sent personal congratulations on the success.

Minister Piwarz also thanked the teachers who had played a "major part in this success". They not only pass on their knowledge, "but also motivate and support the young people to reach their full potential".

According to the ministry, 16,372 people took part in the Abitur examinations at general, vocational and evening grammar schools as well as colleges, technical colleges and technical secondary schools in the state this year. That was just under 500 fewer than in the previous school year. A grade of 1.0 was achieved by 250 young women, 150 young men and two people with no details. In 2023, 16 more young people were recognized for this achievement.
