The responsible persons of the volleyball Bundesliga club Dresdner SC have confirmed a financial gap in the budget of 230,000 euros. However, the new season of the traditional club is not in danger. "We have acquired 285,000 euros in additional money through sponsors in recent weeks," DSC CEO Joerg Dittrich said Friday at a press briefing of the six-time German champion. "The minus results from the Corona period, because the loss of revenue from state aid has not been completely compensated, in addition, many costs have gone up due to inflation and the energy crisis," Dittrich explained.

In order to close the financial gap, DSC has made savings in many areas, increased ticket prices by 30 percent and soon a crowdfunding campaign together with the fans should also bring money into the coffers.

"For the new season, we are planning with a budget of 2.5 million euros, which of course is not completely capped at this point," emphasized Dittrich, who announced further measures to ensure that the DSC women's volleyball team can remain competitive in the future, play for titles and make another appearance in the Champions League. "We agree with our partners that we want to continue on our successful path. That's why we are confident and absolutely on the attack," the CEO said.
