Third-division soccer club Hallescher FC must dig deep into its pockets for the misconduct of its supporters. The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) sentenced the club to a fine of 19,075 euros on Monday. The club can use up to 6350 euros of this amount for security or violence prevention measures, which must be proven to the DFB by June 30.
The HFC supporters had fired a rocket and set off at least 15 Bengal flares shortly before kick-off of the third division match against Viktoria Köln on November 5, which delayed the start of the game. In the third minute, another rocket was fired and at least 25 Bengal flares were set off in the Hallens spectator block, resulting in a two-minute interruption to the match.
