Following the recent actions of the Last Generation, Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports are tightening their security measures. A specific police authority is to help with this.

Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports are taking security precautions following the disruption of operations at Frankfurt Airport. "Following the repeated disruptions at other German airports, the security forces at Leipzig/Halle and Dresden Airports have been sensitized and are acting with increased vigilance," said a spokesperson for Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG in response to an inquiry. The two airports are therefore working closely with the German Federal Police.

Activists from the climate protection group Letzte Generation (Last Generation) were stuck at Frankfurt Airport this morning. The airport temporarily suspended flight operations. Flights were also canceled in Hamburg due to the disruption. Activists had already blocked air traffic at Cologne/Bonn Airport for around three hours on Wednesday.
