A cargo plane taking off from Leipzig on behalf of DHL crashes shortly before the airport in Vilnius. Information is now available on the nationality of the victims.

A Spanish citizen has been killed in the crash of the cargo plane on behalf of the postal service provider DHL. A representative of the police authority told the Lithuanian news agency Elta this morning. The other occupants of the plane - a German, another Spaniard and a Lithuanian - were injured. The authorities did not initially provide any further information on the medical condition of the injured. The Spanish Swift Air plane crashed in the early morning near the airport of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. The plane crashed close to a residential building with sleeping people. Emergency services were informed of the crash at 5.31 a.m. local time.
