Two trade fairs have been ensuring a hive of activity at the Leipzig Exhibition Center since Tuesday. As the organizer announced, the International Trade Fair for Machine Tools, Manufacturing and Automation Technology (INTEC) and the International Subcontracting Fair (Z) are attracting numerous visitors and experts from Germany and abroad up to and including Friday.
Successful start despite difficult market situation
Both trade fairs got off to a very successful start with a total of 733 exhibitors from 26 countries, said Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "This may come as a surprise because this success is not reflected in the order situation in the mechanical engineering industry." The aim of the two trade fairs is to create a spirit of optimism and send out positive impulses.
Despite economic challenges, it was possible to maintain the strong presence of companies from the mechanical and plant engineering sector and the traditional supplier industry. This underlines the importance of this important industry gathering at the start of the financial year.
Politicians focus on networking and innovation
Saxony's Economics Minister Dirk Panter is planning a tour on Thursday. "The trade fairs network industry representatives and provide impetus for overcoming various challenges in global competition," said the SPD politician recently. Companies need to pursue several goals at the same time: higher productivity, increased use of renewable energies, digitalization of industrial processes and more robust resilience of supply chains and networks.
