Hospitals receive money from health insurance companies for the treatment of patients. The sum is higher this year than in 2024.

Hospitals in Saxony will receive more money for inpatient treatment this year. The health insurance companies are expected to provide 3.6 billion euros for patient care. This is 4.36 percent or a good 150 million euros more than in the previous year, the health insurance companies announced.

The statutory and private health insurance funds had previously agreed on a state prime rate of 4,385.06 euros with the Saxon Hospital Association. The value forms the main basis for the billing of hospital services such as operations or births via the flat rates per case.

The agreement is an important step towards keeping inpatient care stable. However, this should not hide the fact that structural changes are necessary, according to the health insurance companies.
