Next year's Dresden Music Festival will be dedicated to the theme of love. According to the organizers, the 48th edition of the festival will also send a message of understanding to the world. A total of 61 concerts at 24 different venues are on the program from 17 May to 14 June 2025.
A diverse program
The next edition of the music festival will once again focus on versatility. Top orchestras from the USA, Asia and Europe can be experienced as well as a love poem reading with Lars Eidinger or an open-air concert with pop singer Ronan Keating.
"We are addressing love as a response to hatred, violence and indifference," explained artistic director Jan Vogler. In the run-up to the music festival on May 9, 2025, a "Concert for Peace" by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra is already planned in Dresden's Kreuzkirche.
This year, around 65,000 visitors attended the festival's 60 events. The occupancy rate was 93 percent. The festival organizers rated this year's edition as the most successful in the festival's history to date.
