The city of Dresden has created additional accommodation for hundreds of migrants. Next Monday (January 15), the first people will be able to move into the residential containers in the districts of Gorbitz, Johannstadt, Seidnitz, Strehlen and Trachau, as the city announced on Monday. A further facility in Niedersedlitz is expected to be occupied in February. Its use is therefore limited to 24 months.
The six facilities offer temporary accommodation for up to 505 people. The accommodation in Niedersedlitz (152 places) and Strehlen (144 places) is specially designed for refugee families. The four properties in Gorbitz, Seidnitz, Trachau (48 places each) and Johannstadt (maximum 65 people) accommodate single asylum seekers.
