Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer has clearly distanced himself from the AfD. "The AfD has a big enemy and that is the CDU," said the CDU politician in the ZDF morning show. He had always made it clear that he would not work with the AfD.
Kretschmer did not want to go into detail about last week's action, when the CDU pushed through a motion in the Bundestag to tighten migration policy with votes from the AfD on Wednesday. However, he emphasized that the issue of migration is the most pressing one for people in Germany. "If we don't resolve the issue of migration, right-wing populism will continue to grow." Attitude is no substitute for action.
