The state premiers are calling for a reduction in the above-average energy costs in Germany. In view of the crises in the chemical, steel and automotive industries, there is an acute need for action, according to a resolution. At their annual conference in Leipzig, the heads of the federal states formulated a whole list of demands to tackle the problem.
Among other things, the electricity tax must be reduced for all companies. In addition to electricity storage systems, hydrogen and heat storage systems should also be promoted more. In future, the necessary grid expansion should not only be financed through grid fees, but also through tax revenue. The power plant strategy must be implemented more quickly.
