Work as a mediator in the German-Czech border region for a year to gain new perspectives yourself: This is made possible by the "A Year at the Border" program, which is being advertised for the fourth time. Anyone interested can apply for a scholarship from the German-Czech Future Fund until February 28. This was announced by a spokesperson for the Prague-based organization.
The organization is looking for "doers and enthusiasts" who have knowledge of the other language. The participants are to address stakeholders from civil society, associations, communities and churches on both sides of the border, bring them together and support them in joint activities. The focus is on facilitating ideas and contacts as well as providing advice on site.
Extending the program to 15 months
New is that the program is now being extended to a total of 15 months. After one year at the border, the experience gained will be passed on to the next group of scholarship holders over a period of three months. This is intended to achieve better continuity.
The German-Czech Future Fund (DTZF) was founded in 1997 to contribute to understanding between Germans and Czechs. It is jointly funded by the governments in Berlin and Prague.
