Since the start of the parliamentary election campaign, there have already been several attacks on campaign workers in Saxony. With the exception of one attack on a CDU politician, it is mainly the Left Party that has been affected. The party reported several incidents last weekend in Dresden.
When putting up election posters on Saturday night, a cyclist threatened a 72-year-old and a 74-year-old with death. "We'll hang all you communists from the trees", the attacker shouted as he rode past and showed his middle finger, according to the Left Party. A team of posters aged between 22 and 25 were insulted and pelted with eggs. An intoxicated person tried to sic a dog on another team.

According to the police, eight young men aged between 15 and 19 threatened and insulted the four men and one woman at the stand. There were no injuries, but the table at the information stand was damaged. According to Dresden police, state security is investigating the death threats and the attack on the campaign stand.
The police in Görlitz reported another incident. There, a group of several unknown persons threatened four Left Party campaign workers on Sunday afternoon and damaged one of their election posters.
