The Semperoper Ball in Dresden is all about music and dance. The ball celebrates its 100th birthday in 2025. Little by little, the ball society reveals the secret of who will be appearing on the dance floor.

The Semper Opera Ball has announced the first guests for its 100th birthday next year. According to the organizers, Grammy award winners Purple Disco Machine, trumpeter Till Brönner and pop singer Max Giesinger will take to the stage at the anniversary edition on 7 February. The evening will be hosted by actress Stephanie Stumph and her colleague Tom Wlaschiha. Both had already hosted the ball this year.

In addition to the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, the Semperoper Ballett and, for the first time, the children's choir of the Sächsische Staatsoper, other artists from Germany and abroad will also be part of the program. One of the highlights announced is a performance by soprano Golda Schultz from South Africa. The Choros Ball Award goes to singer Jasmin Delfs and Purple Disco Machine. The man behind the award is Dresden-based music producer and DJ Tino Piontek

"Despite his success, Tino Piontek has remained a down-to-earth person who has never forgotten his Saxon roots. His home is still the center of his life," explained Gerhard Müller, Chairman of the Semper Opera Ball. Piontek has already worked with stars such as the Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga and Elton John and was honored with a Grammy in 2023 for his remix of Lizzo's single "About Damn Time".

At midnight, singer Max Giesinger will get the ball's guests going. He already took part once before in 2018.
