Bundesliga club RB Leipzig will be without El Chadaille Bitshiabu and Assan Quedraogo for the time being. The 19-year-old central defender Bitshiabu is currently suffering from a muscle injury in his thigh and will be out for the next few weeks, the Saxons announced. It is the second injury for Bitshiabu, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, following a torn medial collateral ligament in his knee last year, which forced him to miss three months. He had already missed the test match against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the USA. The Frenchman has only made six Bundesliga appearances for the club so far.
The 18-year-old Ouedraogo will be out for "several weeks". The midfielder, who signed for ten million euros from FC Schalke 04 five weeks ago, is struggling with a knee injury that he also suffered during the training camp in the USA. This has now been revealed by an examination in Leipzig.
