The women of RB Leipzig have recorded their second win in their third league match. They won 2:0 (1:0) against SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga at home on Cottaweg. Lydia Andrade (8th) and Giovanna Hoffmann (50th) scored in front of 1,038 fans.
Leipzig got off to a furious start in the first half. Marleen Schimmer was already celebrating what was supposed to be her first goal for RB before it was taken back minutes later for offside. However, the RB women were not discouraged and scored again just two minutes later through Lydia Andrade - this time in accordance with the rules. The rest of the first half was more even than the opening period, but Bremen lacked the final consistency.
The second half started just as strongly as the first. Former Werder player and birthday girl Giovanna Hoffmann (50) was sent down the right by Sandra Starke and scored freely from twelve meters to make it 2-0. The early goal again came at an inopportune time for Bremen and the score remained the same.
