Bundesliga volleyball club Dresdner SC can continue to rely on the services of Latvian international Marta Levinska and libera Patricia Nestler. As the German cup winners and championship runners-up announced on Tuesday, the players have extended their contracts for the coming season.
Diagonal attacker Levinska moved to the Elbe last summer from Turkish first division club PTT SC Ankara. She developed into an absolute top performer and became the top scorer in the Bundesliga. Although the 23-year-old also had offers from Italy and France, she decided to stay in Dresden for another season. "I like the environment, I was very happy with the team and the club," said Levinska, explaining her decision to sign.
Nestler was the first Dresden player in the club's history to return to her home club after four years last season. She moved from the Rote Raben Vilsbiburg to the Elbe and took on responsibility as a reception and defense specialist for the six-time German champions. "It wasn't a difficult decision for me. I'm pleased and proud that I've already been able to take on so much responsibility as a young libero. And I'm not at the end of my development yet," said the 23-year-old.
