Experience the diversity of Leipzig's Easter market with 80 traders and medieval charm at the 28th Historical Easter Fair.

The Leipzig Easter Market will once again attract visitors to Leipzig's city center from 16 to 21 April. Around 80 traders offer a wide range of goods suitable for the Easter holidays. The Easter market opens daily from Wednesday to Easter Monday (except Good Friday, April 18) from 10 am to 8 pm; on Easter Monday it is open until 6 pm. At www.leipzig.de/ostermarkt there is a digital overview of all participants at their locations.

"We are starting the new event year full of energy. We are therefore delighted that we can once again welcome many long-standing participants to the market, as well as some new ones," says Market Office Director Dr. Walter Ebert. In addition to Easter gift items such as wood carvings, toys and flower arrangements, there will also be tea specialties, basketry, ceramics and baked goods on offer.

The market office is also continuing its long-standing cooperation with the organizers of the French gourmet market. Exquisite products can be tasted and purchased in the Salzgäßchen: Cheese from the Savoy, pastries from Brittany and olives from Provence.

28th Historic Leipzig Easter Fair

"Easter in Leipzig without a Historic Easter Fair is unthinkable," says organizer Heiko Guter from Heureka Leipzig, who, together with his fellow campaigners, is once again aiming to bring medieval trade, hustle and bustle and a number of jugglery events to the market. History organizer Heureka Leipzig has been staging this event in close cooperation with the Leipzig Market Office since 1996.

Whether it's the house band "In Validus", the duo "Sonare" or the comedians "Rokuskokus" - they will all be performing the music and games of the traveling minstrels, which have been handed down for Easter fairs for 500 years, on the Easter weekend. With music, games and historical market activities, the market stage offers entertainment for the whole day from 11 a.m.

In keeping with the historical ambience, children can let off steam around the Heurakahn "Arche Medes" or on a ride on hand-operated rides such as the Ferris wheel. They can also try their hand at carving wood and soapstone at the child-friendly craft stalls.

Weekly market to be postponed

The traditional weekly market opens before Easter on Tuesday, April 15, and on Maundy Thursday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Augustusplatz due to Good Friday.
