The current Elbe flood will reach its peak on Wednesday, according to a forecast. In Dresden, the flood peak is expected to be close to the guideline value for alert level 2, the State Environment Agency announced on Tuesday. This value is five meters. Normal in Dresden is around two meters. After that, the water level is expected to drop.
Upstream in Schöna on the Czech border, the Elbe already reached alert level 2 on Tuesday. This could lead to the first flooding of areas, roads and paths. There are four alert levels in Saxony.
There were no more flood warnings for the other river basins on Tuesday. The German Weather Service predicted a lot of clouds for the next few days, but rather light rain.
