A woman just wants to take a closer look at the flooding in Görlitz, slips on the edge of the water and floats hundreds of meters into the water. But she has a stroke of luck.

A woman fell into the Neisse in Görlitz while checking the water level. Presumably out of recklessness, the 46-year-old stepped too close to the flooding river at the Parkhotel Merkur on Sunday evening and fell in, according to the police.

She had floated almost a kilometer in the Neiße until she was able to pull herself out of the water just before the Vierradmühle weir. A witness called an ambulance. The 46-year-old was taken to a clinic with hypothermia.
