Mandarins are healthy. If you don't buy them fresh, you can also buy them in a jar. Now a product has to be recalled.

Mandarins in jars sold in Aldi Nord stores are being recalled due to possible glass splinters.

As the food wholesaler Clama GmbH & Co KG announced in the evening, the product in question is "Mandarin Oranges in a Jar" from the Sweet Valley brand in the 1,000 gram size. The jars with the lot number 24083-1 3302/01025 are being recalled for reasons of precautionary consumer protection because it cannot be ruled out that they contain glass splinters.

The lot number can be found on the edge of the jar lid. Other lot numbers or products are not affected. The jars could be returned to the store.
