Chaos on long-distance services: a faulty signal box slows down ICE and IC trains. Some journeys are completely canceled.

Due to a defective signal box between Braunschweig and Magdeburg, there are restrictions on Deutsche Bahn's long-distance services. ICE trains will not stop in Braunschweig and Helmstedt, as announced by Deutsche Bahn. The alternative stop is Wolfsburg.

The following long-distance services are affected:

  • ICE trains on the Berlin - Braunschweig - Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe - Frankfurt am Main route
  • IC trains on the Leipzig - Magdeburg - Hanover route

Individual trains were canceled on the entire route, it added. Passengers should expect delays of up to 80 minutes.
