Regional transport in Saxony is expected to be restricted on Thursday and Friday. The trade union Verdi has called for a two-day warning strike. In the districts of Vogtlandkreis, Zwickau, Erzgebirgskreis, Mittelsachsen, Meißen, Sächsische Schweiz/Osterzgebirge, Bautzen and Görlitz as well as in the city transport services of Plauen, Chemnitz and Dresden, several companies of the employers' association for local transport (AVN) are affected.

The fourth round of negotiations is scheduled for March 20. Among other things, the Verdi trade union is demanding a 22 percent increase in pay, but at least 750 euros per month, as well as an increase in pay for trainees and interns of 200 euros per month - both retroactive to January 1 of this year. According to the union, the employers offered an increase in three steps totaling 12 percent and an inflation compensation bonus in the last round.

On Friday, there will also be a nationwide warning strike together with the climate group "Fridays for Future", which would also affect cities such as Leipzig.
