In the course of demographic change, according to an expert opinion by management consultants Kienbaum, a management succession is due by 2023 at around 33,000 family businesses in Saxony. "We are talking about at least 131,000 jobs that need a perspective in the coming years," said Minister of Economics and Labor Martin Dulig (SPD), according to a statement on Monday on the results of the commissioned study. That company transfers to subsequent generations "in this order of magnitude" succeed, is "not a matter of course."

According to ministry data, one-fifth of medium-sized companies in the Free State are 60 years and older, 2021 were almost ten percent already over 65 years. But fewer and fewer idea givers of younger generations are ready to take responsibility. According to Kienbaum, their activation is the elementary building block for success. For companies with a minimum annual profit of 30,000 euros alone, 10,090 "handover-ready" companies needed a solution in the next few years. Both in the handicraft and in the ranges trade, services, catering trade or the industry concern that in the next ten years approximately each third enterprise.

Laut Dulig should independence before young humans therefore "no longer zerredet be", but politics and economics together the chances behind it point out. "To be your own boss - that's something wonderful!" This courage and innovative spirit should be supported, he said, "especially with the high number of companies that need strong and far-sighted successors today and tomorrow."
