Due to bad weather prospects, the city of Dresden has postponed the planned installation of a cycle path on the Blaues Wunder.

Due to bad weather prospects, the city of Dresden has postponed the planned installation of a bike path on the Blue Wonder. The risk was too great that the bike lane could not be properly marked on the bridge over the Elbe River because of the unsettled weather, announced Department of Public Works Stephan Kühn on X (formerly Twitter).

The bike lane should have been painted red on Sunday evening, in addition, the reprogramming of traffic lights was planned. The city planned the project as a six-month traffic trial. The project is controversial because it eliminates a car lane.

According to Kühn, a new date for the trial is now to be discussed next week with the road and civil engineering department and the contracted road construction company. "It is likely that we can only start in the spring. The weather is not foreseeably getting any better," wrote the public works director
