The IT disruption at the Dresden city administration has been resolved. "All processes and applications are available again. The emergency situation is over," said a city spokeswoman. On Thursday, a network fault meant that the city's website was unavailable, among other things. There, the authorities had also provided information about the current situation surrounding the defusing of a World War II bomb on the Carola Bridge.
According to the city, the cause of the outage was a faulty configuration. The network technicians had previously wanted to increase the technical capacity in order to cope with the expected rush on the homepage. In addition, city employees had to work remotely due to the bomb discovery, and this additional load on the network was also to be cushioned. This is when the misconfiguration happened and the outages occurred.
Most of the systems had already been released again by the technicians on Thursday. Remaining work was completed in the early morning. The employees of the state capital were able to work normally again today.
