The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Saxony (KV Sachsen) believes that outpatient medical care in the state is at risk. More and more GP and specialist practices are facing closure because the political framework conditions are deteriorating, as KV Sachsen announced on Wednesday. This means that despite long working hours, there is less and less time for patients. According to the KV, the reasons for this are excessive bureaucracy and immature digitalization measures. There is also growing concern among patients that more and more practices are having to close, leading to a massive deterioration in outpatient care, particularly in rural areas.
According to the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, the number of GPs per 100,000 inhabitants was lowest in the Zwickau district (60), the Erzgebirgskreis (56) and the city of Chemnitz (59) last year. More than 70 GPs were only registered in the district of Leipzig (77) and in the two largest cities in the state, Leipzig (75) and Dresden (73).
